Gingerbread Houses... in MAY?!

Journal Entry: Mon May 26, 2008, 7:45 PM
Yes. Yes, yes, YES.

So, I suppose I shall explain. My beloved friend, Sarah, had never had a gingerbread cookie before, let alone a gingerbread house, let alone... bake. Appalled by this fact, I decided that as my birthday gift to Sarah, whose birthday was on Friday, I would bake some gingerbread for her and let her experience the gingerbread house joy.

So, Melanie and Sarah came over and we made gingerbread... creations. I mean, we TRIED to make houses. We honestly did, but only I was close enough, whereas Mel resulted with some cult-infested dorm and Sarah with a raving disaster of some sort of hotel-rainbow land. O_o

But damn, that gingerbread was AMAZING. We baked. From a box, but whatever. We BAKED out cookies, man.

And we made gummy bear zombies and mutated monsters like the gummy-bear/worm.

Pictures, even if some are blurry, will be posted just because I liked them for the memories. Who says gingerbread is for Christmastime? Gingerbread is FOREVER!

I've decided on what to do with this thing

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 17, 2008, 6:46 PM
It's going to be a WORD journal. Yeah, like, okay... It sounds lame, but give me a chance here. In each post that I, uh, decide to make, I'm totally going to bring up words that I adore for some reason.

Some words are just so cute, or so awesome, or so sexy, or just plain weird that I love them. Words are pretty much my nonexistant children. Anyways... Yeah. Sorry, but dA will be my word lover.

WORDS:

surreptitious - (adj) marked by quiet and caution, and secrecy; taking pains to avoid being observed

"With a sidelong glance at the door and a quick surreptitious movement he showed a pornographic picture."
-Of Human Bondage by W. Somerset Maugham

pasquinade - (n) a satire or lampoon, especially one that ridicules a specific person traditionally written and posted in a public place

"The article, a pasquinade mocking the proposed education reform, generated a lot of angry mail from readers."
-Merriam-Webster Dictionary

That's it for this post. Cheers.

Oh. And yes, I realize I am a literature geek, but I'm proud of it!

Hello strange little world

Journal Entry: Sun Mar 9, 2008, 12:28 PM
I suppose the first thing I should confess should be that I've actually been trying not to post on the dA journal. I have this addiction about journals: I love making them, writing in them, and getting new ones. Unfortunately, I rarely update them... but I'm trying REALLY hard to stay committed to my Uber-blog, which is Uberly awesome in all its uberness oob.

Sometimes I think I'm cheating on my blogs... I totally dumped the one on Blogger (it just wasn't working out...), I'm trying to stay committed with Uber, I canceled my liveJournal after day (one-night-stand), and now I'm cheating on Uber with this dA one. I'm horrible.

Anyways, so considering I've given in to the tantilizing temptation of posting on this thing... I'll, uh, give some facts that no one ever needs (and definitely does not want) to know.

A1 - I segregate my M&Ms into colors and eat them in this order: Brown first, orange, yellow, red, blue, and green last. This doesn't mean I'm a racist or a communist, which doesn't make sense, but my friends would tease me otherwise. I actually have no idea why I do this.

B2 - I hate taking pictures of myself, which is why I could never become a camera whore. However, if my friends would let me take pictures of THEM, I would totally be a camera pimp.

C3 - I love giraffes and have even pet some. It probably one of the happiest days of my life, which on most people's scales would probably be kind of... sad.

D4 - I hate the number 9. Don't ask. I just do.

E5 - I have an uncanny habit of making lists (hence the one I'm making now). They range in all sorts of topics, from Places to Go to Childhood TV shows (108 listed) to the humorous Lists of Lists.

F6 - Sometimes I hear this spinning sound, but I never know where it comes from. It kind of freaks me out and makes me wonder if I did something to my head to cause this.

G7 - I write in cursive, not so much in print.

H8 - When I was little, my sole dream was to become a fish and live in the Atlantic Ocean. Specifically, I wanted to be a flounder fish because I thought they looked cool. However, as years grew on, I realized this would become virtually impossible for me to do, so I changed the "fish" to "author" and the "ocean" to the "city" because I think writing is cool, especially when a school of people are reading it.

I9 - I love sticking my fingers in between my toes. My father hates it when I do this, but I just love the feeling too much.

J10 - I'm supposed to be doing homework.
